The idea behind the app
The gaps are part of the picture
In the app and in life.
An empty space easily looks like an error. In a task list it means something is still unfinished. In many trackers it means a streak has broken. But a day is not a table that has to be completely filled in.
01What enough means here
The German word genug, like enough, often names a threshold. Here it is not a number a day has to reach. If three of the seven areas felt right today, those three can be enough. Seven is not an award. And if you mark nothing, the day is not a failure.
An open space stays unanswered. Something may not have been there, you may have been unsure, or you may simply not have answered. The app cannot know the difference, so it does not pretend it can grade your day.
02Why these seven
Sleep, movement, food, stillness, water, self-care and connection are ordinary parts of a day that affect one another and are easy to lose sight of when life gets busy. Genug gives them fixed places so you can see what had room.
They are not a scientific formula or a complete map of a good life. Seven is a deliberate boundary: small enough for one quick look and wide enough that every new intention does not need to become another item.
- Sleep
- Movement
- Food
- Stillness
- Water
- Self-Care
- Connection
03A fixed frame, a personal meaning
The seven areas stay fixed so Genug does not become another task list. There is nothing to configure and no catalogue that can hold one more goal. You can open the app and begin immediately.
What an area means for you today is not fixed. There are no prescribed tasks, step targets, litre targets or required minutes. The app decides where to look. You decide what counted for you today.
04The open spaces stay visible
What you mark gains colour. What stays open remains an open space in the picture. The app does not turn that into “three out of seven”, and it does not turn a blank day into zero.
When several days sit beside each other, you can see what often had room and what has grown quieter. That is not a diagnosis or an instruction. It is a picture that only you can interpret.
05Nothing to make up
A skipped day stays skipped. There is no chain to repair and nothing extra to complete tomorrow. When you return, you simply open today.
A week without gaps would look tidier. It would not be more honest. Genug leaves the open spaces in place because they belong in the app, and because incomplete days belong in life.
Try it without the app
Seven areas, one question
Look at the seven once today:
- Go through sleep, movement, food, stillness, water, self-care and connection.
- For each area, ask only: Was this here for me today?
- Leave open spaces open. Add nothing up and make nothing up tomorrow.
If three answers come, leave it at three. If none comes, leave the space open. That is all this look at the day has to do.
